About Us

In July 2009, Florida Farm Bureau received a grant from Workforce Florida Incorporated and the Agency for Workforce Innovation to create the Employ Florida Banner Center for Agriscience.  Founding partners in the initiative include the Florida Future Farmers of America Association (Florida FFA Association), the Florida Department of Agriculture, the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and the Florida Department of Education. Under Florida Farm Bureau’s leadership, these organizations are working together to build a strong connection between the agriculture industry and Agriculture Education in Florida.

The Banner Center for Agriscience can be viewed as the bridge connecting Florida’s agricultural industry with formal Agriculture Education.  Since its establishment, the Banner Center for Agriscience has worked closely with industry and education partners to build this connection.  This relationship ultimately results in state-wide, industry-driven curricula in Agriculture Education, leading to a highly skilled, highly trained talent pipeline for the industry.
